The idea for this ensemble originated from the millinery. I had acquired the dress second-hand, yet I was certain that I wished to implement alterations to align with my vision of creating a classical black and white outfit that would harmonise with the millinery. When my dressmaker suggested adding pleated sleeves to complement the pleated collar I had already proposed, it was evident that this was the final touch needed to complete the look.
