I found inspiration from how diverse Best Suited Category was last year and decided to make my first suit, as well as have it represent the beautiful, exotic side of the Australian wildlife and outback as I live in remote Western Australia. This suit has been designed and constructed with a figure flattering crop jacket, wrap skirt, long elegant sleeves (which are as long as the skirt) and sumptuous red satin lining throughout. The jacket has a large motorbike zip feature on the right shoulder of the jacket. Worn here with a red ripple textured shirt that enhances the matching red piping colour through the suit so you can wear the skirt with or without jacket. The front and back of the suit all feature an indigenous artist (Chernee Sutton) fabric panel depicting the majestic Australian Black Cockatoo. The gorgeous colours and patterns of Australian Art and nature are things that inspire many of my designs. The fabric of the suit was chosen to be suitable for the warmer spring days. Bold, beautiful and fun Orange pops feature in the fabric panel, earrings, millinery, shoes and clutch.
