I am often inspired by certain eras of fashion, some decades I love in particular are from the 1920s, 1950s and the 1990s. I'm feeling that the 1950s is a real trend at the moment and very much a part of how I like to express my style, things like neck scarves, polka dots, poodle skirts, cat-eye sunglasses, anything that was fun, flirty, and accentuated the figure. This outfit was inspired by Audrey Hepburn in the 1950s, her timeless style that can always look like it had just been purchased from the latest runway collections, classical looks with sophistication and an emphasis on femininity. "She believed that women should find their own complementary "look", rather than rely on trends, and accessorize it seasonally" This particular look features her iconic Givenchy wide brim style of hat that she wore in Breakfast at Tiffanys in 1961 I added gloves to accessorise as opposed jewellery which is something she often did with her outfits. Even though this look came out in 1961 it was still very much a part of the 50s era of fashion. My A- Line style dress is from a high end designer store and I paired it with a hat from Morgan and Taylor that I refurbished using a flower choker purchased from Lovisa, my gloves are vintage Alannah Hill, purchased over 15 years ago, a simple crystal encrusted clutch from Olga Berg also purchased about 8 years ago.
